Crosslinked polyethylene foams ( XLPE ) consist of fine celled, chemically crosslinked materials with a microcellular structure. This type of material is flat-surfaced with high capacity for impact-absorption and chemical resistivity. With its closed cell structure, the XLPE foam works well as a shock-absorbent material, as well as for industrial joints, thermal isolation and protective packaging foam.
