Product spotlight: Elastomeric foam EM-41 and EM-41-U

Worldwide Foam introduces two new elastomeric foams to our extensive product line.

EM-41 is a closed cell EPDM foam, meeting ASTM D1056-2A1 and FMVSS-302 standards. This material has a nominal density of 4.93 lb/ft3, and a nominal shore hardness rating of 39 (00).

While the EM-41-U is a closed cell EPDM foam meeting ASTM D1056-2A1 and FMVSS-302 standards. EM-41-U has also been tested to UL-94 HF-1, offering compliance at 1.5mm and higher. This material has a nominal density of 6.18 lb/ft3, and a nominal shore hardness rating of 24 (00). Both foams can be supplied at 54” wide usable, in sheet and roll format, with or without PSA on one side.

Compliance testing was completed on both materials to the following OEM standards;

– GMW 17408 Class 1 Type IV

– TSM 1501G 2A1

– MSAY 430 Type 2

– MSK M2D 419A Type 2
